About Coach

Growing up I participated in a variety of sports and outdoor activities; soccer, basketball, softball, golf, skiing, snowboarding, cross country, track, and wakeboarding. I loved playing sports, being part of a team, and staying active. I stuck with sports through high school and was on the softball, basketball, and golf teams. This is also where I had my first experience with strength training and weightlifting, in the athletic PE class. Since then I have continued strength-based training on my own at various gyms, ran a marathon, and tried a variety of fitness classes, including spin, HIIT, and many styles of yoga. Fitness and a focus on health have always been important to me and I am excited to take it to new heights by coaching here at FemFit.

Turning Point

While fitness has always been important to me, there was a time when I stopped making it a priority, and I felt the effects in multiple areas of my life. I had just started teaching full time and I was mentally and physically exhausted. I got out of the habit of working out and for over a year I didn’t work out on any consistent basis. When I stepped away from teaching and was ready to recommit to improving my physical and mental well-being, I struggled to find something to help me rebuild the habit. That’s when I found FemFit. A friend of mine was going to try a class and wanted me to come with her. After my first class, I was hooked. FemFit was everything that I needed as I regained control of my health. It has given me greater insight into how to train with my body, empowering me to take into consideration the fact that as women we show up to the gym a little differently each day, so that I can honor those differences and train accordingly. With the knowledge, community, and consistency that I have gained through joining FemFit, I was able to return to teaching, without giving up my fitness routine and have become one of those ladies working out at 5:15 AM.

Motivation & Passion

I’m excited about the opportunity to apply what I’ve learned and experienced over the years as an athlete and as a member of FemFit, along with the CrossFit Level 1 Training I completed, to my role as a coach at FemFit. As a coach, my goal is to empower women in all seasons of life, by sharing knowledge, providing encouragement and support, and challenging women to reach and exceed their health goals. I want to be a part of helping women find the joy in working out, build confidence and strength, and experience all the benefits that I have enjoyed since joining FemFit.
